But as mine has done over 160k on the original clutch and DMF then I will happily replace like with like when the time comes. I think 160k is a good enough life span, although mine is a 2005 and the DMF was apparently modified in later

The diesel engines in the Ford Mondeo Mk3 are Ford’s own designs (unlike the TDCi in the Focus Mk2). The TDDi and the TDCi are pretty much the same engine, except for different injection systems and turbochargers. The TDCi is a Common Rail engine, and the things that could go wrong with it are the same as for all other modern diesel engines.

So im thinking its just the ecu he will be resetting, i have never had a problem with an injector before so this is new to me.

Easier than I thought. I ground down a 1/2'' drive to get to the tensioner. ( therefore didn't have to lower the engine) I slackened the 3 bolts on the pulley first. Got someone to put their foot on the brake whilst the car in 3rd gear - they were very tight. Slackened off the tensioner and removed the bolts; pulley off.
